There is a lot of uncertainty and concerns during the midst of the rapidly evolving Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation both locally and globally. We would like to assure you of our ongoing commitment to providing solutions and services to our customers. Important precautions continue to be taken to protect the health, safety and well-being of customers, our communities and our people.
Some delays in delivery to be expected
You will start to experience some delays in the delivery of overseas parcels due to increasing border control restrictions being implemented globally which is restricting airfreight schedules worldwide. With further reductions and suspensions of scheduled flights expected, the industry will face a shortage of capacity which is having a profound effect on pricing in all markets with capacity now at a premium.
Our Cross-border and linehaul teams continue to identify alternate routings or multi-model options where possible to reduce the impact, however, please anticipate delays to worldwide destinations. Please expect a short-term premium to be applied on normal tariffs due to this unprecedented event. A Quantium account manager will be in contact to discuss this further.
The situation is changing daily, with more countries and airlines announcing restrictions that impact the airfreight capacity available.
Changes to our delivery process to keep everyone safe
Some of our delivery processes will be temporarily changed to ensure we continue to provide our services whilst keeping everyone safe and connected. While the overall risk of transmission of any virus is low in our day to day business operations, social distancing and minimal close physical contact precautions are being implemented across our workforce.
